What is a film trailer and how does it work?

A film trailer is an advertisement or a commercial for a feature film that tells the story of the film in a quick and easy condensed format which the audience can understand easily. The idea of a film trailer is to excited the audience into going and watching the film at the cinema it also informs the target audience building up there expectations for the film.
